You may not be familiar with the company Tattered Angels, but I’ll bet you have heard of their signature product – Glimmer Mist!

Cindy is very deserving of this honor! She takes the best care of her customers and is an extremely talented designer! Please join us in congratulating her! * A side note: Cindy’s website is www.stampingscrapping.com while her actual storefront is Lasting Impressions. Just to eliminate any confusion.

Hi!  I recently sold my Slice so I have a VIP Design Card FOR SALE!!

Because I purchased my Slice at a Making Memories VIP store, I received the VIP Exclusive Design Card.  It is not available for retail sale, so it’s VERY limited in it’s availability.  I have listed it on ebay HERE.

Here is a photo of the card.  It’s called “Seasons”.

Glue Glider Love…

ga-00532

Hi!

I recently had the chance to borrow the ATG 50 from a friend.  I used it for about 4 layouts and my hand is now swollen and my wrist and arm are sore.  In all fairness, I have tendinitis in my wrists.  The ATG isn’t heavy, it’s just the motion and pressure that you use to make it work that bothers me.  I also found myself wasting a lot of adhesive, because it doesn’t always lay down correctly, and sometimes doesn’t even come off of the backing onto your paper. It’s also difficult to see where you are putting the adhesive so I ended up reapplying the adhesive after not getting it where I wanted it the first time.   It was very frustrating for me.  I ended up pulling out my Glue Glider Pro to finish the last layout.

I am definately going to order more refills for my GGP!  I love that little guy!  It’s lightweight, small, and you can see exactly where you are placing the adhesive.  The refills are a couple dollars more than the ATG’s, but I feel like it’s worth it because you don’t waste any adhesive and it’s a lot more convienent to use.  You also have a lot lesss start up cost, because the dispenser is only around $15.   I am pretty sure I wouldn’t scrapbook as much if I had to use the ATG for everything.

Anyway, that’s just my opinion and experience 🙂

You can get your own Glue Glider Pro HERE.

Have a great day!

I’m so excited to be featured in Craft Critique’s BLOG CARNIVAL!  They are showcasing Valentine’s Day projects from a whole list of crafters so head over and check it out!  Click HERE.

Quickutz Silhouette SD….

Well, I officially have Silhouette SD fever!  After seeing a few video demos of this product – I’M SOLD!  In fact, I have already ordered mine from Cindy at Stamping Scrapping!

silhouette-2img

This machine is amazing.  I had one of the first generation Silhouette machines and this one is way more advanced.

The new features that I LOVE are:

  • Auto-Feed for the paper!  Before you had to roll the paper in manually.
  • New software update that includes one click welding and shadowing.
  • Ability to change your blade out to a marker and draw instead of cut.
  • Built in blade cap holder (Yay! No more hunting for blade caps!)
  • Cuts images up to 39″ long! (Perfect for doing those home decor projects with vinyl)
  • Adhesive backed vinyl can be fed through without a mat! So you don’t waste any vinyl because you can keep it on the roll while it’s cutting!
  • And quite possibly the BEST new feature – the SD card slot! You can put your images onto the SD card and take the machine to a crop with you and not have to lug your laptop!  It even has an LCD screen so you can view and select your images when you are not at a computer!
  • Oh and to top it all off – Quickutz is giving you 6 months of unlimited downloads in their image gallery!  How can you beat that?

For those of you not familiar with the Silhouette, it will cut any true type font on your computer, download images from the Quickutz site, and create your own images from clip-art and such.   I liked the features of the Silhouette before, however, the software left a lot to be desired.  With the new software update, I am just in heaven!!

I LOVE Quickutz – I also have the Revoloution and Squeeze and would never part with either of them 🙂  Their products are known for their great quality!

If you would like to learn a little more about the Silhouette, you can visit the Quickutz Site.

Cindy at Stamping Scrapping has the new Silhouette SD for $249.99 if you pre-order it!  That’s a $50 savings off of the retail price of $299.99!  Get yours HERE.  If you decide to order one, please tell her Candice sent you 🙂

Have a GREAT day!

Yep, that’s right a FREE Scor-Pal!  You can visit their blog here for details!

Page Maps Sketch Challenge…

This is my entry for the challenge on the PageMaps Blog.  My brother is the subject of the layout.  He is serving with the US Army in Iraq right now.  His tour is up at the end of this month and he will FINALLY get to come home and be with his wife and baby boy!  It’s been over a year since I have seen him, so I can’t wait for him to be home!

Help Me Please!

Cindy at Stamping Scrapping has a Yahoo group where she posts all of her sales, does group buys and has contests.  As many of you know, I am a member of her Design Team.  Our Design Team Challenge is that whoever signs up the most new members gets a prize from her!! So could you please help me??  Here is the link to the yahoo group.  All you have to do is join and then go into the Database and make sure to list “Candice” as the person who referred you.

I would SO appreciate your help!

Oh-and if I win – I will be offering BLOG CANDY to return the favor!!

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Hi everyone!

I was just reading my new issue of Creating Keepsakes and they were featuring storage and organization soloutions for your scrapbook area.  This inspired me to share how I organize and store things.  So this week, I will be sharing my scrap space a little at a time 🙂

Today, I want to share with you my most favorite storage item, the Ribbon Ring. I discovered this about a year ago, and wouldn’t store my ribbon any other way!  It’s the best solution I have found for my never ending ribbon collection.  Unlike some products, you can keep adding to it and make it your own.  You can buy 1 tag or 100, whatever suits your needs.

I have mine sorted by color and keep my patterned ribbon separate.   The best feature of this product is that you can take the entire ring, wad it up and throw it in your scrap tote, and when you pull it out, your ribbon is not tangled one bit!  It’s awesome!

I was SO excited to see Cindy carrying this product at Stamping Scrapping, because now, every time I order I will add a few more tags to my order!   Oh, and did I mention that they are VERY easy on the pocketbook?

To get your very own Ribbon Ring, click here.

Here is a picture of my ribbon ring (well at least a couple of them)

The Love of My Life…

My husband, Derek, and I have been happily married for nearly 5 years now.  I have finished our wedding scrapbook but for some reason this new Cosmo Cricket Chemistry paper was  begging me to do one more layout.  So I decided to do this layout to put in one of the 12 x 12 frames above my scrap area.  After all he and our daughter are the inspiration for all of my scrapbooking 🙂

dscf9909

For this project I used:

Cosmo Cricket Chemistry Paper

Brown Cardstock

My Cricut & SCAL to cut the title

American Crafts pink cardstock from the Tropicals collection.

Offray dotted satin ribbon (found this at Michaels for $1 a yard!)

Bazzill In Stitch’z Flourishes Template

Doodlebug glittered brad

Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo

Icicle  Stickles (to glitter accents on the background paper)

Cinnamon Stickles (to glitter the title)

Stampin’ Up Scallop Punch  (you could also use the Threading Waters punch – very similar)

The flower was done buy cutting out hearts and arranging them on a glue dot, and then layering them with larger hearts.

Thanks for looking!

Have a WONDERFUL day!!

It’s really hard to buy scrapbooking items for someone else, so why not just buy them the gift certificate so they can choose their own items? Are you a scrapbooker or cardmaker?  Go to  www.stampingscrapping.com and create a gift registry.  Simply give your friends and family the web address and they can choose items from your list!  It’s a great way to get EXACTLY what you are wishing for this holiday season! Tomorrow I will begin my Christmas countdown with a new project posted each day!  So be sure to stop by! Have a wonderful day!

I just wanted to share an AWESOME video by Cindy over at www.stampingscrapping.com.  She made an adorable Christmas Tree from the scalloped circle Nestabilities!  It’s SOOOOOOO cute!

I’m so excited that Cindy at www.stampingscrapping.com has featured another one of my projects on her site this week!

I used the Spellbinders Decorate Ornament Reflections Dies to create these projects.  I am just in love with these dies, and I think I may even be using them for my own Christmas cards this year!  The ornaments on the layout are created using these dies as well as the Spellbinders foil sheets.  I think the foil sheets give them a really neat look and I was even able to emboss the foil with my Cuttlebug!

Cindy has all of her holiday Spellbinders Dies on sale for 30% off this week!  The Ornament Dies that I used are only $7.80 right now!

You can find  all of the holiday Spellbinders dies here

And the foil can be found here

Mom Made Me Cry!

As many of you may already know from my previous posts, my brother, Jerimiah, is in the US Army, stationed in Iraq.  My mom made this really sweet video tribute for him and I just had to share!  It made me cry, no it made me SOB!  Check it out for yourselves…

designteam-037wm

Okay, as promised I have a cool project to show you!  I first saw this little turkey on a Stampin’ Up! demo’s website and I thought it was so adorable, but I didn’t own all of the punches to make him.   I recently sold all of my punches and purchased the Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies to replace them.  It was the best thing I have ever done.  The Spellbinder Dies take up WAY less space than all of those punches! So I have figured out how to use those wonderful Spellbinders dies to make the turkey and I’ve made a video to share with you!

At any rate, please forgive the quality of the video and lighting; it’s my very first video!  If you are interested in seeing more videos (in better quality of course) please leave a comment letting me know!

The dies that I used for this turkey project are from the Nestabilities Large Scalloped Circles, Nestabilities, Large Classic Circles and Nestabilities Small Classic Circles.

The card base is from the one of the NEW RELEASE Nestabilities sets – Mega Curved Rectangles which are on sale SUPER CHEAP this week at Cindy’s store : www.stampingscrapping.com She also carries all of the other dies that were used in this video as well as the Glue Glider Pro and Scor It Mini!  So go check it out!

Okay, well on to the video, and again I apologize for the quality!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Veterans’s Day!

Okay, I know I’m a day late, but it’s never too late to thank the men & women who have defended our country.  So “Thank You” from the bottom of my hearrt to all of you who have served or are currently serving our country.  “Thank You” for giving of yourselves so that the rest of us have a safe country to call home!

A special “Thank You and Happy Veteran’s Day to my Dad who is an Army veteran, as well as active duty with the Air Force National Guard; my sister-in-law, Amanda, who is active duty Navy; and my brother, Jerimiah, who is currently stationed in Iraq with the Army.  I love you all!

A Pretty Witch…

I just thought I would share a picture from Halloween, yes, I know I’m behind!  My daughter wanted to be Minnie (mouse) the Witch for Halloween, but settled for just being a plain witch.  She’s got the Wicked Witch laugh from the Wizard of Oz down pat too!  joie-and-punkin-man

I’m no longer MIA!

I have to apologize for not posting lately.  I’ve been very busy lately, but have some awesome new projects to share with you this week!  So keep checking back!

Thanks for stoping by!

🙂 Candice

My dear friend Lindsey was married this weekend.  She was the most beautiful bride!  Her wedding was wonderful and she had perfect weather!

My daughter and I were both in the wedding.  She as the flower girl and I as the Matron of Honor.  I will add photos below 🙂  Enjoy!

The Girls

So you may have noticed the cute little blinkie (thanks Michelle!) on my sidebar, that’s because Cindy over at www.stampingscrapping.com has chosen me as a member of her design team!!  I’m so excited to be working with Cindy because she’s such a wonderful person, and has a fabulous store!  She’s a great friend too!

Here is my first featured project with her…

I used the Petaloo glitter flowers and the BRAND NEW JustRite Wedding stamp set for this project, which is actually a wedding gift journal.  Cindy has both the Petaloo (many other colors and styles) as well as the JustRite products available on her website: www.stampingscrapping.com.

Keep watching both here and Cindy’s site for more projects from the design team!

I also used Stampin Up Chocolate Chip ribbon and Stampin Up! Kraft cardstock.  Oh, and my new Stampin Up Scallop edge punch (LOVE IT!!).

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

$1 Bin Altered Book!

So, I ws in Target the other day, digging through the $1 bins for scrapbooking items, when I came across these little books:

Just a $1 childrens book – but I turned it into this:

I used my new favorite tool, the Tim Holtz sanding block (http://www.stampingscrapping.com/item_1140/NEW-TIM-HOLTZ-SANDING-GRIPBLOCK.htm ) to rough up the pages.  I then used Tombow Multi glue to glue my pages down.  I sanded the edges, decorated the pages and now have a cute little christmas book!

By the way, if you’re interested, the paper is Fa la la by Making Memories 🙂

Thanks for looking!  Let me know if you have any questions!
